Brighton Fringe 20 years celebration

For the 20th anniversary of Brighton Fringe, the brief required a dual approach: promote the upcoming 2025 festival while celebrating two decades of performers, venues, and community memories. The goal was to capture the raw, unmistakable energy of Brighton's counterculture history.

Concept & Process
Inspired by Sir Peter Blake and Monty Python, I researched iconic crowd compositions and anchored the design around three legendary local landmarks: Brighton Dome, Brighton Pier, and the Theatre Royal.

To reject corporate polish in favour of DIY chaos, I embraced a tactile, homemade aesthetic. This involved combining a hand-cut collage style with a gritty risograph print effect, paying homage to the city's rebellious creative roots.

Deliverables & Execution

  • Identity: Designed the bespoke '20' anniversary logo, acting as the visual anchor across posters, lanyards, venue signage, and the website.

  • The Printed Program: Celebrated the highly anticipated return of the physical festival guide by illustrating the front cover and creating the centre-fold map.

  • Campaign Assets: Produced various internal mini-ads adhering strictly to the 2025 visual identity of bold diagonal stripes, a vibrant colour palette, and a textured, DIY collage aesthetic.
